How The Rotomaxx High Torque Mixer Works
Overview | Specifications | Options
The principle of operation for the Rotomaxx high torque mixer is similar to Admix’s Rotomixx portable agitator and other top-entry agitators whereby a motor provides power to drive a shaft, and a bearing frame provides support for the motor, coupling and shaft. At the end of the shaft there is a device for pumping fluid, typically an impeller consisting of 3 blades attached to a central hub. The combination of the speed of the shaft rotation and the orientation and type of blades pump the fluid or liquid into which the impeller is immersed.
The mixing impeller is the heart of the Rotomaxx mixer and its success in promoting high flow and rapid mix times. Standard Rotomaxx units use our Jetfoil™ impeller, providing superior axial pumping rates with minimal power usage. Custom impellers are available to suit specific applications.
As a rule of thumb, the Jetfoil provides TWICE the flow rate and tank turnovers at a given horsepower as compared to conventional pitched blade agitators.
