If you have a Boston Shearmill, Dynashear, Fastfeed, PIC, Optifeed, Shearpump, Mayomill or Flowshear with double mechanical seals, we have a video that provides step by step instructions for the installation, adjustment, and operation of the John Crane Safematic (Safeunit) for these inline mixers. The Safematic device controls the flow and pressure of the barrier fluid to the seal. The video will show you the connection, proper adjustment, and operation of the Safeunit.
It is critical that all double mechanical seals be properly lubricated for your application. Installing and properly operating the Safeunit is critical to the life of the seal. If the Safeunit is not installed properly and the seal is not lubricated it will lead to seal failure. Seals running without lubrication will fail very quickly.
